Collioure celebrates this year the 12th edition of the Piano Festival in Collioure .

The International Piano Competition is a highlight of the event. Every year, a selection of 9 pianists from all over the world compete, expressing their virtuosity to try to win the Alain Marinaro Grand Prix .

The association of the Friends of Alain Marinaro is at the initiative of the organization of this festival in partnership with the City of Collioure.
The jury will be chaired by Claire Desert, professor at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris (CNSMDP). It will also be composed of Vera Tsybakov, Jonathan Benichou and Romain Hervé , leading concertos.

Every day at 17:00, from Tuesday, June 28 to Thursday, June 30, three competitors will perform at the cultural center (entry € 10). The public will be able to vote to nominate the winner of the day who will receive a prize of 700 € offered by one of the partners of Piano in Collioure (Societe Generale, Delmas Music, Casa Pairal).The Jury, meanwhile, will designate at the end of the competition the "Interpretation Prize of the Contemporary Work" (500 € offered by the MAIF) and the "Alain Marinaro Grand Prix" (3000 € financed by the City of Collioure). New this year: a jury composed of 4 students of the National Conservatory of the Region (CNR) Perpignan Méditerranée chosen by their teachers will award "the Young Prize" (300 € offered by the Restaurant El Campanar)

  • Friday 28 June at 9 pm: Piano with 4 hands - Roman Duo Hervé and Vera Tsybakov
Four-handed duet by Vera Tsybakov and Romain Hervé. Their understanding of the city and the scene is ideally reflected in their interpretations.

  • Saturday, June 29 at 9 pm: Recital Rodolphe Menguy
Rodolphe Menguy recital, winner of the Alain Marinaro prize in 2018. This young boy has a musical maturity that amazed the jury of last year.

Recital by Jonathan Bénichou who composed the work that will be imposed on all contestants and that he has dedicated to Alain Marinaro.

  • Monday, July 1st at 9:30 pm: Claire Desert Recital
Accustomed to prestigious festivals in France, Claire Désert is also present on major international stages and performs as a soloist with major symphonic ensembles. In his well-developed discography abounding interpretations inspired by Prokofiev, Scriabin, Satie and especially Robert Schumann. As a prelude to this concert, the awards will be presented to the winners of the competition.

  • Monday July 8 at 9:30 pm: Varduhi Yeritsyan Recital
Varduhi Yeritsyan, an Armenian pianist known for her interpretations of Alexander Scriabin, of which she regularly plays the Complete Sonatas for Piano. In addition, she has been able to showcase the composers of her country. She is also particularly fond of the role of soloist and in recent years she has played under the direction of the greatest European chefs.
