The vineyard of Banyuls & Collioure is rich of more than 25 centuries of History. It is a real human work, carved and maintained by many generations of men and women who work on this millenary vineyard, an exceptional meeting point between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean. The vines, planted in terraces and supported by a network of dry stone walls, anchor their roots deep within a soil composed of shale that brings freshness and minerality to our naturally fruity wines.
In 1950 the cooperative wine growers of the vintage Collioure and Banyuls, anxious to improve the quality and the notoriety of their wines grouped together their technical means of vinification and breeding. They gave birth to Terres des Templiers, which in nearly 70 years has become the reference in the great wines of Banyuls, Banyuls Grand Cru and Collioure. Today, Terres des Templiers is home to more than 800 winemakers working over 700 ha of vines. The cellar accompanies them in their work, defines the specifications of production, controls the management of the vines and directs the grapes according to their specificity to elaborate their vintages. While preserving the traditions of centuries-old secrets, Terres des Templiers turned to the future.
Terres des Templiers, producer of the prestigious AOP Banyuls, Banyuls Grand Cru and Collioure wines is awarded each year with the biggest national guides and competitions.
