Created by a law in 1910, the tourist tax is established at the initiative of those communes that invest funds in promoting the reception of tourists.
It is collected by the accommodation owners and paid in total to the commune, which devotes it entirely to those expenses linked to providing a better welcome for tourists: the operating of the Tourist Office, organisation of activities and events, upkeep of public spaces, improving sports and leisure facilities.
The rates of this tax are determined by the type (hotel, campsite, furnished accommodation, etc.) and classification of the accommodation. You can find the table of rates available for download at the bottom of the page.
To become familiar with the procedure to follow, please refer to the Tourist Tax brochure that is also available on this page, along with all the documents mentioned in the brochure.
If you are the owner of a furnished accommodation, obtaining a classification will entitle you to a tax reduction of 71%. For more information, please visit the Collioure Tourist Office.
For an answer to any questions, please don't hesitate to write to Gladys, the Tourist Tax officer in Collioure.
