FORT DUGOMMIER

Fort Dugommier is located above Fort Saint Elme. The redoubt was built between 1844 and 1851 to improve the town's defences on the Spanish border.

From the end of the 19th century onwards, the fort, which was gradually deteriorating to the point of ruin, was the subject of several successive restoration projects that are still taking place today.
