– Admission: €9. (The exhibition is included in the visit to the Château).
– Last admission: 45 minutes before closing time

THE BLUE HOURS

“Les heures bleues”, an exhibition linked to the coastline and the ponds that punctuate it as far as the gateway to Spain, a ribbon of water along which the artist “wanders”, memorising the play of light, reflections and colours. The emotion I feel in these uncluttered spaces takes effect immediately and changes my state of mind, taking me away from the hustle and bustle of the world. The light, colours and reflections that constantly fluctuate and transform these landscapes are at the heart of this work.

I translate and interpret the beauty of these spaces in a language that ranges from the figurative to the abstract. I’ve gradually stripped away the details to keep only what I feel is essential, with a deliberate, cultivated minimalism of pictorial means, a form of simplicity and purity. This approach frees up the space devoted to light and allows the eye to enter the colour, the predominant blue. Only a few vertical elements hold the composition together, ricocheting off each other, adding rhythm and creating the poetry of the ever-present reflection, an uncertain element that sways and vibrates discreetly, adding a barely perceptible movement.

To paint is to convey a state, an emotion, a truth, a sharing. Expressing what beauty nourishes in me, in us. To speak of an infinite space that invites you to travel, offers a beneficial reverie, a moment’s rest, a moment’s reflection.
