IMMERSIVE ROOM "EXPLORA" AT THE ROYAL CASTLE OF COLLIOURE

The Royal Castle of Collioure invites you to discover its brand new immersive room: "EXPLORA The Invisible Castle"

An exploration in the invisible spaces of the monument, a pretext to recall the traces of its history. Immerse yourself in an immersive experience at the Royal Castle of Collioure!

True time machine, the EXPLORA show takes you on a dive into the history of the Royal Castle of Collioure.

It is by following a young girl as curious as reckless in the bowels of the fort that the most secret and inaccessible corners of the monument come alive on the vault of the room.

In the flickering light of a candle, a graffiti is revealed at the turn of an underground… Further on, it is an buried object that rises from the earth, releasing as if by magic the memory of those who over the centuries built, inhabited and surveyed this castle suspended above the waves.

During the creation process, the directors of the show were inspired by episodes of history and objects that particularly marked them, intrigued… They are presented and contextualized in this decoding guide.

This evocation of the evolution of the site through the ages, its lost states and underground parts not accessible to the public confronts the outer space and visible to the secret monument. It thus allows to offer a new, participatory and dreamlike experience of visit that involves the public and brings them back to their imagination.

As the viewer follows a young girl, curious and reckless, he encounters traces of the past, its shadows that have become barely perceptible, somewhere in buildings and memories. They are drawn on the wall, reveal themselves on the plaster, all close. A gaze that stares, a whisper that crosses. Impossible to escape…

•  Price: show included in the entrance fee of the monument (7 € full rate, 6 € discovery pass rate, free for -26 years old, job seekers and RSA beneficiaries)

• Closed on January 1 and January 15 to January 27, May 1, August 15 and 16, December 25 and 31.
