Since 1977, the Fondation Antonio Machado de Collioure association has been working to disseminate the thought and work of the famous humanist poet Antonio Machado, who has been buried in Collioure since 1939.

The lecture, entitled “Antonio Machado, poetry, war and exile”, looks at a journey combining literature and politics that was disrupted by the tragedy of the Spanish Civil War. This presentation will be accompanied by passages of poetry. The lecture will be given by Mercedes Cuesta and Joëlle Santa-Garcia.

The foundation is committed to further promoting this symbolic figure from Collioure and his work both locally and internationally. After the lecture, there will be a tour of the Machado space in the media library.
