- A strategic monument in the history of Collioure
- Exceptional viewpoint over the entire Vermeille coast
Before the Fort was built, there was only a watchtower (Torre de la Gardia) to warn of Barbary or Norman invasions. The Fort was built by Charles V in 1538 around the tower. This stronghold was the central element in the defensive system of the coast and Perpignan against the French.
Now a private monument, it boasts an exceptional viewpoint.
