Working on a scene – Improvisation – Acting

In the inspiring Mediterranean setting of Collioure, this course offers children and teenagers a creative immersion in the world of theatre.

Over five days, participants explore acting through a scene from the repertoire, while developing their imagination, confidence and enjoyment of being on stage.

This course focuses on working with a scene from the repertoire, whether classical or contemporary, on improvisation, on physical and vocal expression, and on the pleasure of acting and collective creation. Young actors learn how to build a character, listen to their partners, dare to propose, develop their imagination and gain confidence on stage. The aim is to enable them to express themselves freely, cooperate and discover the joy of acting.

Throughout the week, the students alternate between articulation and diction exercises, voice and breathing work, physical expression, improvisations, rehearsing a scene from the repertoire and creating collective scenes. Everyone progresses at their own pace in a caring, stimulating and dynamic environment.

The pace is designed to encourage concentration, artistic commitment and steady progress towards the final performance.

The week culminates in a public presentation on Friday at 12 noon, when the young actors share their work with their families and friends. It’s a chance to showcase their efforts, celebrate their creativity and experience the thrill of the stage.
