The Antonio Machado space, a new space to discover!
Installed within the grounds of the Quintana hotel where he was welcomed on his arrival in Collioure, near the cemetery where he is buried today, the Machado space retraces the last days of the poet. From his arrival at Collioure station until his death on February 22, 1939, many people lavished care and attention on him and showed him admiration and esteem. His tragic fate has since become a symbol and his grave an important place of meditation.
Beyond his grave, it seemed necessary for the city of Collioure to fill a void in memory. This place, humble in its volumes and sober in its scenography, now remedies this. A trilingual educational trail recounts Machado's last journey and guides us to a space dedicated to contemplation, in front of the reconstruction of the room where he died.
The Machado space carries the simple ambition ofbring the poet back to life, retrace his exile, honor the symbol and, ultimately, keep the flame of poetry alive.

Hours :
- From October to the end of May: open every day except Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- From June to September: open every day from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
